Senior Digital Design / Firmware Engineer

Position Description:
Senior Digital Design / Firmware Engineer

The ideal candidate will have excellent hardware and firmware design experience. Some software experience is required as the selected candidate will be responsible for writing the software or firmware for hardware design. The primary focus of this position is to design the circuits for downhole tools which includes qualifying the design and integrating it with the system. Hardware design experience should include designing circuits with Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), microcontrollers, design of small, densely laid out electronic boards, low-power electronics design, understanding of circuit board design and layout techniques for signal integrity, and (FPGAs) Field Programmable Gate Arrays. Software experience should include C and Assembly language for DSP and other processors; VHDL for FPGA programming.


Required Qualifications:
 
 * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline
 * Previous experience within the Analytical Device Market a plus
 * 2-5 years experience in a “Start-up” environment
 * Direct experience in pharmaceutical or related industries a plus
 * Experience with optical spectroscopy - NIR a plus
 * Familiarity with data analysis and chemometrics would also be helpful
 * Some self-governance is expected, but the successful candidate will be operating in an interdisciplinary environment in most activities
 * Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and other software/internet based applications
